Again.... Funding is not education's biggest problem.

Instead of being outraged that they were blown out 108-3, where's the outrage that they only managed 3 points?

"Outrage" that a team got blown out this bad can only be described with the word stupid. A team, under ANY circumstances that can only manage 3 points simply sucks and needs to get accustomed to failure until they improve.

Attention West Ridge School District, here's the first clue, that one simple part of the equation as to why your team is awful is that your coaching staff is idiot filled: "'I don’t know why the score was that high,' Jamie Keefer, West Ridge’s athletic director and a coach for the girls’ team,"

I wasn't at the game Jamie, but having been to and participated in numerous basketball contest.... I have an idea! The other team put the ball through the goal a hell of a lot more times than your team did!

I've seen a lot of games in which a team was over matched from a talent stand point, but frankly, when you're beaten that bad, some of the blame HAS to fall on the coach. He's piss poor! Three points is inexcusable!

Here's a tip for coaches who are not very good and have to whine about getting blown out instead of coaching a team to be competitive: You are free to hold the ball just as the other team is. You are free to forfeit the game when you realize you are out-coached and out-matched, you are free to quit attempting to score. If you are attempting to score, then you are attempting to compete. If you are attempting to compete, don't whine when you have not prepared diligently enough to be competitive, that's your fault!

And for you parents whining about your kid's self-esteem.... You're a piss poor parent, and learning about reality is the best thing that can happen to your kid. To learn that they suck at basketball as opposed to being great as you tell them they are will help them more in their life than their entire miserable existence living under your roof.

Michael Jordan is perhaps the greatest competitor the world has ever known. He has stated many times that his motivation to be good at basketball came from being cut from his high school team as a freshmen. Imagine if someone had added him to the team in order save his pride? Perhaps his pride would not have been damaged. Perhaps he wouldn't have spent a year working vengefully and tirelessly to improve his abilities. Perhaps he would have settled for being average.

Frankly, I thank God that Jordan's high school coach hurt his pride, because by doing so, it created perhaps the greatest athlete in history and I was fortunate enough to enjoy watching him.

This must be what Hendrix meant when he said, "If a 6' turns out to be a 9, I don't mind."
