Trying out an iPad....

I'm typing this blog on an iPad. It's a friend's who's letting me try it out.

For general surfing, you tubing, etc. It's pretty cool. I really like
the touch scrolling option! However, typing is a pain in the ass. I
originally thought that I would hate the touch screen key board but I
actually like it. I adapted to typing more or less at full speed
pretty quickly. However, you have to lay it flat on a table or your
lap to type and see the screen. I do somewhat like the the smaller
keyboard when the screen is rotated vertically as I have big hands and
can type with one hand, but that wouldn't be preferable for any sort
of lengthy typing. Only other typing issue is the apostrophe isn't
very convenient.

I haven't really checked out any apps, but can easily see how they
would be pretty cool, but at the same time I wouldn't want to buy an
iPad and then turn around and shell out more money for a dozen apps
which I'm guessing would be the bare minimum for anyone using the iPad
as their primary connection to the Internet.

All in all it's much cooler than I thought it would be and that's
coming from someone who is not an Apple geek.
