iPad vs. Galaxy Tab

I just spent the last couple of hours playing with a Galaxy Tab & an iPad side by side. I've been debating for a couple of months which, if either to buy.

First let be say that both kick ass! I would love to have one of each, but feel that's a waste of money on one. However I have come to the conclusion that for my purposes the iPad wins. Basically, I'm choosing the iPad as a laptop replacement. I understand that for some peoples' computing needs that just isn't feasible. I feel for mine it is. I plan on the iPad to be my primary internet connection.

HOWEVER, I have to say, that if I were just looking for a highly mobile web connection that provided great functionality when my laptop wasn't available, I would go Galaxy Tab. In fact, the Galaxy Tab's size makes portability a significant benefit for it. Plus I love the Swype typing technology. If I were to get a Galaxy Tab, I quite possibly would go sans smartphone. A basic phone that I could call, text, & maybe receive emails on would suffice, as you could take the Galaxy Tab with you virtually anywhere.

However, as a laptop replacement, the iPad's size (along with a few more subjective nuances) wins out.

But again, if I were looking for a mobile computing option with less hassle than a laptop, I think the Galaxy Tab wins out.

Both are awesome 1st generation tablets though & their coming competitors & updated versions should really be something else.
